Intern - Engineering (Substations & Planning)

Internship Details:

seeking candidates for paid full and part time engineering internships for 2025. The selected intern will be exposed to a wide variety of engineering challenges, including but not limited to:

• Examine trends, events and adverse conditions on electric system
• Perform routine calculations and studies under the direction of an engineer or designer
• Perform field visits and verify existing conditions/status
• Develop and review material standards
• Complete engineering economics based reviews of designs and standards
• Complete equipment sizing evaluations
• Support storm restoration efforts

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful completion of Circuits II and Physics II courses
• Minimum Cumulative GPA 3.0
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree or graduate degree in an ABET accredited program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or after
• Live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned work location (Gainesville, Virginia)
• Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history
