Sales Merchandiser- Madison

Job Responsibilities:

• Promote the use of the company's portfolio throughout regional markets, specifically within the retail chain industry, by being the point person for select retail sites to merchandise specific products as requested by customers.
• Develop an effective marketing and sales strategic plan to maximize wine distribution within an established or growing customer base.
• Maintain routine contact with key decision-makers to develop support.
• Place products on shelves or in displays for maximum exposure.
• Ensure products are merchandised correctly per standardized merchandising procedures, rotate stock appropriately, and verify correct pricing and point-of-sale materials.
• Provide timely educational programs, materials, and services when deemed necessary.
• Work with management to monitor sales growth and market penetration using monthly reporting tools.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as accounting and customer service to resolve billing, ordering, or shipping issues within the designated territory.
• Meet agreed-upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
• Arrive at work, appointments, meetings, and all work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
• Provide pictures of display, cold box, or shelf reset executions upon request from management or other internal departments.
• Communicate effectively to management regarding any specific customer requests.
• Keep accurate daily and weekly logs of accounts visited to provide to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., climb ladders, bend, sit, carry, stand, reach, and drive.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid drivers license required.
• Chain retail sales experience preferred.
• Wine knowledge preferred.
• Demonstrated computer knowledge.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Field sales with significant travel by automobile.

Equipment/Machinery Used:

• Automobile, telephone, copier, computer (or tablet), fax machine, calculator.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting up to 45 lbs., bending, sitting, carrying, standing, manual dexterity, reaching, visual acuity, driving.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid drivers license.
• Chain retail sales experience preferred.
• Wine knowledge preferred.
• Demonstrated computer knowledge.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
