Inventory Control Associate
The Inventory Control Associate shall be responsible for all aspects of inventory control, checking inventory accuracy, reducing inventory levels and risk exposure, and maintaining overall compliance with company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as required by management.
The Inventory Control Associate shall be accountable to and supervised by the Inventory Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
Perform daily physical inventory counts and audits and provide detailed documentation of results.
Perform quality checks around date-sensitive, slow-moving, and obsolete items via various system reports.
Research transactions and exceptions to determine root causes and provide resolutions.
Conduct inventory adjustments to ensure inventory accuracy.
Research discrepancies, driver shorts, and out-of-stocks, and report trends and errors to the leadership team.
Request, prepare, compile, and retain reports and records in printed and electronic form.
Perform initial research on causes of weight variances, receiving/put-away/letdown issues, and damaged products in the slots from warehouse moves.
Evaluate, verify, and process driver-returned products.
Reconcile routes, invoices, and other documents.
Perform related clerical tasks and audits to support warehouse logistics.
Adhere to company standards for safety, product handling, and food safety.
Work in multiple environments, including offices, ambient, refrigerated, and frozen storage areas.
Knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn warehouse management systems.
Conduct product slotting.
Job Requirements
Must possess a minimum of two years of job experience in inventory control or other clerical roles in a distribution center setting.
Ability to resolve routine problems, analyze complex scenarios, prioritize job tasks of varying frequency, and perform with limited supervision.
Basic experience in MS Word and Excel and working knowledge of inventory control systems and processes.
Extensive experience with Excel and spreadsheet management is a must.
Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
Strong math skills, excellent organizational practices, and high attention to detail.
HACCP/SQF experience preferred.
Ability to operate and become certified on Powered Industrial Trucks (Pallet Jack, Stock/Cherry Picker, etc.).
Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more.
