Electrical Craft Worker
About the job Electrical Craft Worker
- Install, test, and commission electrical systems and components in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and regulations.
- Read blueprints and determine construction requirements.
- Perform wiring, conduit installation, and equipment connections for solar PV arrays, inverters, combiner boxes, transformers, and other electrical components.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of solar racking systems and mounting hardware.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, diagnose issues, and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime and maximize system efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers, electrical or site superintendent, and other team members to coordinate workflow, resolve technical challenges, and meet project deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and team members.
- Document work activities, including installation procedures, maintenance records, and safety inspections, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to solar energy and electrical systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Journeyman Electrician license or relevant electrical certification desired.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical construction, preferably in utility-scale solar projects.
- Proficient understanding of electrical principles, codes, and standards. (NEC, NFPA, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
- Must maintain current Electrical licensing for duties per regulations.
- Must maintain a good driving record and valid drivers license.
- OSHA 30 desired.
- First Aid/CPR certified.
- Computer skills, Word, MS, Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism.
