Driver - Ashland/Richmond VA

Job Summary:

The delivery driver's primary role is the safe and timely delivery of products to the end user.

Essential Functions:

1. Operate company-owned and leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
2. Operate trucks for the delivery and pickup of products.
3. Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation user maintenance and provide required reports.
4. Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
6. Report any variances/discrepancies to the local dispatcher.
7. Operate all MHE.
8. Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
9. Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
10. Arrive to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
11. Meet agreed-upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.

Other Functions:

1. Follow all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to manager.
2. Must be available for occasional schedule variations but generally will work Monday-Friday, no weekends.
3. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Equipment/Machinery Used:

Manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack (when duly certified), hand truck.

Working Conditions:

Prolonged sitting, driving, ability to work in severe weather conditions (both heat and cold), and constant travel by automobile.

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity, visual acuity, reaching, bending, and lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Requirements:

1. High School Diploma/GED.
2. Valid Drivers License.
3. Minimum of one year of experience as a truck driver.
4. Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
