Job Description:
The Rodman primary function is to assist in the collection of field survey data and the operation and maintenance of survey equipment. Working under the direction of the Party Chief, this role supports survey execution, with the crew responsible for meeting schedules as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Responsibilities

Operate field equipment including level, GPS, total station, and data collectors.

Take field notes of readings and observations and prepare sketches.

Maintain vehicle and field equipment.

Perform field and office calculations; understand principles of staking and marking.

Operate, clean, adjust, and maintain survey instruments and equipment.

Record field notes, sketches, and calculations manually and/or using electronic equipment.

Drive on paved and unpaved surfaces to reach project sites.

Perform other related field and office duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications

Valid drivers license required.

Knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

General knowledge of surveying equipment, practices, and principles.

Basic understanding of survey theory, including slope reduction and differential leveling.

Positive attitude and a desire for professional growth.
Work Requirements

Ability to sit for long periods, stand, walk, and lift/move light to medium weights (1050 lbs).

Ability to walk construction job sites and climb ladders.

Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and analyze data.

Ability to work in varying weather and environmental conditions.

Travel to offsite locations for work or meetings may be required.

Ability to remain on project sites for extended periods as needed.
