Job Description:
Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for supporting production equipment and facility assets. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing operating equipment during production and breakdowns. The Maintenance Mechanic II collaborates with others to achieve objectives related to safety, productivity, customer service, quality, cost, and environmental protection.
Responsibilities

Troubleshoot production equipment and mechanical failures, perform repairs, and complete preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure equipment reliability.

Assist Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams with root cause analysis, change management, incident management, and non-conformance investigations.

Support operators in daily production and transfer technical skills to other technicians.

Contribute to Planned, Corrective, Preventive, and Predictive Maintenance activities in line with priorities and directives.

Accurately complete all regulatory and compliance documentation and procedures.

Fabricate machine parts as needed; maintain shop organization and 5S standards.

Complete and document work orders in the CMMS in a timely manner.

Review equipment instructions, blueprints, and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical) to determine problems and potential solutions, including redesign or re-engineering of parts.

Participate in and lead team activities focused on performance improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience

Mid to high-level break-fix and preventive maintenance expertise

Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment
Skills & Abilities
-
Strong commitment to safety and quality processes, including Lockout Tag Out (LOTO)

Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control system repairs

Knowledge of Ohms law, voltage, and power sources (460 VAC 3-phase and 110 VAC control)

PLC troubleshooting knowledge

Ability to perform electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs

Proficiency with hand tools and specialized tools

Basic Microsoft Office and/or CMMS knowledge preferred

Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)
