Job Summary
An organization is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (Journeyman) to support advanced modeling and simulation environments. This role focuses on component-level software testing, validating system performance, and ensuring software quality prior to full system integration.
What You Can Expect to Do:
- Write and execute test cases for individual software components
- Document test processes, execution results, and findings
- Analyze test reports and performance metrics
- Validate software functionality prior to system integration
- Use command-line tools, scripts, and test stubs/mocks for validation
- Identify, document, and report software defects using tracking tools
- Participate in software design reviews and provide feedback on requirements and performance
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues
- Support testing activities within Linux-based and DevOps environments
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field OR High School diploma with relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience in software testing
- Experience with component-level testing of software modules
- Experience developing test plans and test cases
- Proficiency with command-line tools, scripting, and testing techniques
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
- Experience using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile environments (sprints, PI planning, etc.)
- Experience with testing tools such as gcov
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Experience supporting modeling and simulation environments
- Experience with automated testing
- Experience supporting DoD-related programs
