Job Description:

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of all electrical systems. These include standard building-related systems, landside lighting for parking lots and roadways, as well as specialized systems related to commercial airport operations.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in commercial electrical system maintenance and repair.

  • Completion of a technical or apprenticeship program in the electrical trade.

  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Virginia State Electrical certification at the Journeyman level (preferred, but not mandatory).

Required Skills

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including:

    • Runway and taxiway airfield lighting and control systems (fixture revamping, rebuilding, underground cable fault locating and repair).

    • Electrical service and distribution equipment in airfield lighting vaults (troubleshooting and repairing constant current regulators, lighting control systems, emergency generators, and automatic transfer switches).

    • Automatic vehicle gates, including both mechanical and electrical components.
