Job Description:
Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading sourcing strategies that drive value, reduce risk, and ensure reliable supply. This role focuses on building strong vendor partnerships and delivering cost-effective, high-quality materials that align with organizational objectives. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define material, quality, and service requirements, while proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in supplier performance, risk management, and overall supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities

Develop and execute sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, and working capital.

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure long-term, value-driven partnerships.

Lead supplier onboarding, qualification, and ongoing performance management.

Manage day-to-day sourcing activities, including RFIs/RFPs, contract negotiations, and material qualification.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, transparency, and proactive problem-solving.

Collaborate with internal teams to align sourcing projects with business goals and timelines.

Monitor market trends and conduct benchmarking to anticipate pricing shifts and mitigate risk.

Drive cost savings, value creation, and continuous improvement across raw material and packaging categories.

Support strategic initiatives such as supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, and risk-mitigation planning.

Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on sourcing opportunities, supply risks, and long-term category strategies.

Minimum Qualifications
Education/Knowledge

Bachelors degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field

Supply Chain Certification (CPIM, CSCP, LSSBB) preferred
Experience
-
515+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, and/or supply chain, preferably in nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, or food manufacturing

Extensive knowledge of raw ingredient and packaging sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and best practices in supply chain management

Strong understanding of ingredient and food safety, quality requirements, regulatory compliance, and industry standards

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret and act on complex data

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills for working with suppliers and internal stakeholders

Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a record of developing high-performing teams

Proficiency in ERP and supply chain management software
