Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide advanced system administration, integration, and sustainment support for mission-critical applications and infrastructure supporting U.S. Space Command operations. This role includes installation, upgrades, daily operations, troubleshooting, lifecycle maintenance, and cybersecurity compliance across virtualized environments, physical servers, storage platforms, and specialized mission systems. Work is performed with minimal supervision and requires strong technical expertise and the ability to support geographically dispersed teams.
This position is contingent upon funding.

What You Will Do

  • Provide senior-level administration for mission systems across lab and operational environments

  • Support engineering teams during integration, testing, installation, PITCO, and SOVT events

  • Perform system installations, upgrades, patching, backups, and lifecycle maintenance

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software discrepancies during and after deployment

  • Maintain secure configurations and support RMF-aligned cybersecurity compliance activities

  • Implement and validate DISA STIGs within Windows Server environments

  • Participate in technical coordination meetings with government stakeholders, OEMs, and integration partners

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience managing DoD Windows Server environments

  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting DISA STIGs in Windows environments

  • Experience managing enterprise-level virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware ESXi, Dell VxRail, Nutanix HCI)

  • Experience implementing or managing on-premises Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix) in DoD environments

  • Experience managing Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPOs)

  • Experience requesting and installing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates

  • Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server, including Always On Availability Groups

  • Experience installing, configuring, and hardening Windows 10 and/or Windows 11

  • Active DoD 8570 Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent)

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret / SCI clearance required

  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline (or additional experience in lieu of degree)

  • Experience implementing vendor best practices and technical design documentation

  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Configuration Manager

  • Experience administering Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments

  • Experience managing DoD Host Based Security System (HBSS)

  • Experience configuring Axway Tumbleweed and OCSP solutions

  • Experience managing advanced DHCP configurations (Windows Failover Cluster, Infoblox)

  • Experience supporting operational DoD environments such as Combatant Commands or Joint Operations Centers

  • Experience designing and implementing VDI environments

  • Experience configuring load balancers (NetScaler, F5) and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB)

  • Experience managing Trusted Thin Client solutions

  • Experience deploying and managing Nutanix clusters and hypervisors

  • Strong automation skills using Microsoft PowerShell

  • Advanced understanding of networking concepts (routing, switching) and packet analysis tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, Fiddler)

  • Advanced understanding of the OSI model

  • Experience managing DNS concepts, including zone delegation and service records

  • Experience managing Service Principal Names (SPNs)

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
