Job Description:
Perform special duties as assigned and be available on stand-by for seasonal work to support storm preparation and snow removal activities.
Key Responsibilities

Emergency Operations: Assist with clearing snow and ice from roadways; apply abrasives and chemicals as needed. May also be called in to respond to other weather emergencies.

Manual Labor: Perform heavy labor such as installing tire chains, plows, and blades; assist with debris removal.

Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment used during inclement weather.

Other Duties: Perform assigned duties, tasks, activities, and projects as directed.
What Will Make You Successful

Ability to operate medium and heavy equipment (dump trucks, front-end loaders, motor graders, backhoes, skid steers, and tractors).

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications

Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including standing, bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work day or night shifts to support emergency operations.

Possession of a CDL and DOT medical card (must be maintained).

Compliance with DOT standards when operating CDL equipment.

Safety shoes required.

Skilled in operating medium and heavy equipment such as dump trucks, tractors, loaders, and graders.

Valid drivers license.
Additional Considerations

Education, training, or experience in emergency operations, snow removal, or related fields.

Experience performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.

Proficiency in snow removal operations using equipment such as dump trucks, graders, backhoes, tractors, and loaders.

Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.

Flexibility to work outside normal business hours during emergencies, inclement weather, and hazardous traffic conditions.
