Regional Sales Representative

Overall Objective
The Regional Sales Representative oversees all sales activities within assigned accounts and territories, working collaboratively with the sales team to drive profitable growth. This role focuses on managing independent and regional customers, expanding market presence, and developing new business opportunities. The position also involves sharing best practices and fostering a team-oriented sales culture.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute annual business plans for assigned accounts to achieve sales targets and maximize market penetration through data analysis, market insights, and training.

Consistently exceed sales objectives established by senior leadership.

Utilize the companys CRM system to manage leads, opportunities, and sales outcomes.

Maintain detailed customer account profiles, promotional calendars, and business plans.

Conduct quarterly business reviews to evaluate performance, new item placements, customer growth, and territory management.

Create and implement a strategic travel plan to ensure consistent territory coverage and maintain strong customer relationships through regular in-person visits.

Source and acquire new customers to expand the companys brand presence.

Engage in prospecting, cold calling, and other business development activities to generate new sales opportunities.

Collaborate with the sales management team to drive territory and account growth.

Work closely with customers to expand distribution, increase market share, and improve product visibility.

Manage the sales pipeline and maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the sales cycle, including project scoping, product development, and quoting.

Coordinate with regional and national teams to align strategies, promotions, pricing, merchandising, and results.

Respond promptly to competitive opportunities to protect business interests.

Lead and support in-store initiatives and identify opportunities for expansion.

Develop competitive pricing strategies based on customer needs and market conditions.

Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
Requirements

Willingness to travel up to 50%, including 23 overnight trips per week.
Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.

Demonstrated career progression with P&L responsibility at both account and regional levels, including experience in planning, budgeting, and general management functions.
