Job Description:
Overview
The Maintenance Technician, Senior is responsible for maintaining and repairing parks, trails, cemeteries, and facilities through skilled labor and technical work. This role serves as a lead over an assigned work crew and provides training to entry-level, seasonal, and temporary staff.
Work includes assessing and identifying repair needs, providing maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and parts, operating light and heavy machinery, maintaining records and inventory, recommending supply purchases, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools.

Perform park maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, table/bench/shelter repairs, ball field upkeep, snow removal, fence repair and installation, landscaping, trail construction and maintenance, volunteer coordination, tree and shrub care, rigging, hauling, trash and recycling removal, and basic carpentry.

Conduct facilities maintenance, including cleaning, repairs, and painting.

Diagnose faulty equipment and make necessary repairs or coordinate with maintenance personnel.

Assist trades staff such as plumbers and electricians as needed.

Maintain work order logs, prepare reports, and ensure accurate record keeping.

Provide customer service to park visitors, including sharing information and safety recommendations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Familiarity with parks and facilities maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

At least 18 years old.

Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Three or more years of experience in parks and/or community facilities maintenance.

Commercial Drivers License (CDL), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Certified Playground Inspector, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Previous supervisory experience.

Experience with community and volunteer engagement.
