Working Week: 3–5 days, flexible depending on experience and daily rate

The Vet Office is recruiting an experienced Locum Mixed Animal Veterinarian for a friendly, well-established veterinary practice in Galway, Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident vet who enjoys farm animal medicine and is looking for a flexible, well-paid temporary position.

The Role

The position involves predominantly large animal veterinary work, with some small animal responsibilities.

• Farm animal consultations, treatments and emergency work.
• Routine veterinary services and herd health.
• 1-in-3 on-call rota, including farm animal emergencies.
• Basic small animal emergency care during on-call shifts, with complicated cases referred to specialist centres.
• Flexible working schedule of 3–5 days per week.

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and eligibility to register with the VCI.
• Previous experience in mixed or farm animal practice.
• Confidence handling large animal emergencies independently.
• Ability to manage basic small animal emergency cases.
• Good communication skills and English proficiency.
• Driving licence.
