The Vet Office is recruiting Farm Veterinary Surgeons for established practices across Ireland. Join friendly, experienced teams delivering high-quality care to dairy, beef and sheep clients.

About the Roles

  • Full-time hours: MondayFriday, standard daytime shifts with a one-hour lunch.
  • OOH/weekend rota: Typically 1 in 4 (Saturday morningMonday), with time off in lieu the following week.
  • Caseload: 100% farm animal work including routine fertility (US scanning & PDs), calvings/lambings, Caesareans, displaced abomasums, downer cow management, herd/flock health planning, mastitis control, lameness, youngstock/calf health, parasitology and infectious disease investigations (incl. TB testing where applicable).

  • Tools & support: Modern equipment (portable ultrasound, fluids, calving kit, blood/FA analysis access), experienced colleagues and RVNs, and practical case back-up when you need it.

Salary & Benefits

  • 45,000 80,000 (DOE, enthusiasm, and level of mentoring required)

  • 4 weeks paid holiday

  • 1,000 annual CPD allowance (farm-focused CPD encouraged)

  • VDS cover paid

  • Generous OOH bonuses, paid in addition to salary

  • Mileage/expenses paid for use of personal vehicle for work
