The Vet Office is recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse on behalf of a warm, well-established and locally owned small animal practice in South East London. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced RVN or a confident newly qualified nurse looking to join a supportive, friendly, and clinically progressive team.
The Practice
The practice is purpose-built to a high standard and benefits from a loyal and well-insured client base (approximately 60%), allowing for high-quality case work and continuity of care.
You will be joining a collaborative and welcoming team consisting of:

4 Veterinary Surgeons
-
3 RVNs
-
1 Student Veterinary Nurse
-
2 Veterinary Care Assistants
-
5 Client Care Assistants
The practice enjoys a varied caseload, excellent facilities, and a strong team culture where nurses play a central and highly valued clinical role.
The Role
This is a full-time, permanent position with:

1 in 4 weekends (Saturday 9am–6pm)
-
No out-of-hours work
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including:
-
Schedule 3 procedures (as per Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966)

Anaesthesia and surgical assistance
-
In-patient and intensive nursing care, including pain scoring and enrichment
-
Diagnostic imaging (including X-rays)
-
Medication dispensing and clinical record keeping
-
Nurse consultations and client support
-
Triage and patient care coordination
A dedicated reception team supports the practice, allowing nurses to focus on clinical excellence while still delivering outstanding client care.
You will work closely with the Practice Owner and senior team members, contributing proactively to the smooth day-to-day running and continued development of the practice.
The Ideal Candidate

Registered Veterinary Nurse (or eligible for registration)

Open to experienced RVNs or confident newly qualified nurses
-
Comfortable working across all areas of nursing

Strong communication and organisational skills
-
A genuine commitment to patient care and team collaboration

Interest in practice development and team motivation is highly valued
