Licensed Veterinary Technician

 Job Description:

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Delmar Animal Hospital | Delmar, NY

At Delmar Animal Hospital, Licensed Veterinary Technicians are central to how medicine is practiced. This is not a clinic where technicians are rushed, sidelined, or treated as interchangeable labor. This is a practice built on trust, clinical standards, and teamwork, where LVTs are respected medical professionals with real responsibility.

We are a well-established small animal hospital serving the Delmar community and surrounding areas. Our focus is quality medicine, strong client relationships, and a sustainable pace that allows our team to do their best work without burnout. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician who wants a long-term role in a stable, supportive practice.

The Role

This position is a true full-scope LVT role. You will be trusted to use your training, judgment, and experience every day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Surgical and dental assistance, including advanced monitoring
  • Venipuncture, catheter placement, injections, and fluid therapy
  • Laboratory diagnostics, radiology, and patient treatments
  • Accurate medical record keeping and treatment execution
  • Client education and communication before and after procedures
  • Collaboration with veterinarians on patient care plans
  • Supporting hospitalized and critical patients with attention and precision

You will not be micromanaged. You will not be expected to cut corners. You will be part of medical decision-making and respected for your clinical insight.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician, licensed or eligible in New York State
  • Strong technical foundation with attention to detail
  • Confidence in patient care and anesthesia protocols
  • Clear, professional communication with clients and teammates
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach during busy or challenging days
  • Commitment to ethical, high-quality veterinary medicine

New graduates with strong clinical training and a desire to grow are welcome. Experienced LVTs looking for stability, respect, and consistency will feel at home here.

The Practice Environment

  • Small animal practice with a loyal, established client base
  • Team-oriented culture with low turnover
  • Doctors who value technician input and trust their skills
  • Organized workflows and realistic scheduling
  • Leadership that listens, supports, and follows through

This is a workplace where people help each other, standards are clear, and professionalism is expected without being rigid or cold.

Schedule and Work-Life Balance

  • Consistent scheduling with predictable hours
  • Thoughtful appointment flow to support patient care and team wellbeing
  • Emphasis on sustainability, not overbooking or constant urgency

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience and licensure
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Continuing education support and license assistance
  • Health benefits and employee discounts
  • A workplace that supports long-term career growth, not short-term burnout
