About the job
The System Engineer is responsible for the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure to ensure optimal system performance, availability, and security. The role involves hands-on management of on-premise and cloud-based systems, deployment tasks, and troubleshooting to maintain seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Administration:
- Configure, harden, and manage Kubernetes (.NET Microservices) environments, both on-premise and cloud.
- Manage deployments and system testing for bug fixes, standard requests, and change requests.
- Perform cloud migration tasks ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
2. Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Monitor server uptime, system performance, and security compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and hardware issues promptly.
- Maintain backups (system, application, and disaster recovery) and ensure data recovery plans are in place.
3. Security & Optimization:
- Implement security best practices to harden systems and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Optimize system resources for peak performance and cost-efficiency.
- Plan and recommend system upgrades for scalability and enhanced performance.
4. Documentation & SOPs:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and network diagrams.
- Maintain asset inventory and software licensing records.
Requirement and Qualification
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in system engineering.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes (K8S) and .NET Microservices.
- Experience with Windows/Linux server environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud migration processes.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
- Backup management and disaster recovery planning experience.
