We are looking for a couple of seasoned Mainframe Session Management Experts for a migration project with a key client in 2026/7.

The role will be a combination of remote/hybrid engagement for an Australian Citizen, with an active Baseline or even better NV1 Government clearance. The role can be based in any capital city in Australia, but some travel to the end Customer site may be required from time to time over the course of the engagement.

  2. Only applicants with the requisite skills and experience defined below need to apply, and
  3. At least 5 years local experience is desired.

Role Purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to bring their skills and experience to bare and provide Mainframe Session Management-based skills incorporating alignment, design, development, delivery and maintenance of a new session management solution to replicate the functionality of an existing solution that meets the business needs of a large organisation.

Key competencies & experience:

  • 15+ years relevant Mainframe technology experience,
  • Multiple years' experience in Systems Programming and Session Management,
  • Knowledge of Broadcom SOLVE:Access and/or IBM CL/SuperSession required,
  • Experience coding in REXX, JCL, Network Control Language (NCL) and/or Structured Session Procedure Language (SSPL) required,
  • Knowledge of ISPF and ISPF Dialogue Management Services,
  • Experience with SDSF (Spool Display Search Facility),
  • Experience in installation and maintenance of mainframe automation solutions, and
  • Experience in migrating between mainframe session management products would be highly desireable.

Key non-technical capabilities:

  • Tertiary qualification in a Technology discipline or related field, highly desireable,
  • Sound understanding of standard mainframe, controls, operating procedures and session management,
  • Use technical expertise and judgement to align, define and implement automation solutions to support business needs,
  • Provide services to support, guide and assure design of solutions in line with agreed migration objectives (ie. like for like),
  • Understanding of change, processes and requirements around Mainframe systems in order to maintain session management functions and processes, and
  • Excellent verbal, written/documentation and presentation skills as well as stakeholder management.
