Job Summary:
Responsible to develop ASME calculations, drawings, and bills of materials. Provide consultation during quoting, sales, purchasing, and production processes as needed. Ensure compliance of pressure vessel design and construction with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, NBIC, JIS B 8265, and familiarize with the Korea Gas Safety Corporation (KGS) registration procedure.
Job Responsibilities:
Validate pressure vessel design and material construction during the quoting process.
Create customer approval drawings and revise as necessary according to customer feedback.
Create and validate calculations with ASME and customer requirements.
Create bills of material in the ERP system (SAP).
Create fabrication packages including top-level drawings, subcomponent detail drawings and bills of material.
Address in-process fabrication questions and issues. Prepare for and participate in supplier audits, and follow up as needed.
The responsibilities will include cost, material, manufacturing process analysis, identification and evaluation of alternatives, design compliance, and tooling development.
Prepare and/or review engineering specifications, CAD models, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical.
Prepare engineering specifications, mechanical data sheets, and technical bid evaluations and proposals. Provide technical input for bid assessments, and review and approve vendor design calculations, fabrication drawings, WPS/PQR, and Inspection & Testing Plans (ITP).
Collaborate with QC lead to perform critical holding point inspection during fabrication, installation and commissioning phases, co-ordination with QC inspectors and other engineering disciplines to resolve problems during engineering, fabrication, commissioning stages.
Collaborate with sourcing engineer for new supplier qualification and supplier performance management.
Able to handle and execute projects or work on site to improve plant efficiency in terms of preparation, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned projects and monitor the workmanship on site.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related subject.
5 to 7 years of design or relevant experience is preferred.
Proficient in English and Mandarin to liaise with oversea colleagues and customers.
Proficient in SolidWorks (Modelling, Routing/BOM, Simulation, EPDM).
Ability to work with and assemble small objects and components. Capable of analyzing and resolving complex product design issues using independent judgment.
Excellent documentation skills (Specifications, Test Plans, Test Reports).
Solid understanding of mechanical properties, failure mechanisms, and processing of engineering materials (e.g., stainless steel).
Knowledgeable in engineering materials and fabrication processes, as well as engineering change management and document management principles.
Familiarity with ERP systems, (SAP is preferred).
Understanding of international standards such as API, ASME, BS, ANSI, and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) related to chemical process plant operations.
Good knowledge and experience in inspection of pressure vessels fabrication, materials, welding and NDE.
Strong mechanical design and analytical skills, with the ability to create and utilize free body diagrams, 3D CAD models, FMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and statistical analysis.
