About the job NPI Product Engineer
Job Summary
Responsible for managing the introduction and transition of new products from the design stage to mass production, ensuring successful manufacturing that meets quality, cost, and delivery requirements. This role serves as a critical bridge in the new product development process, coordinating with design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Job Responsibilities
1. New Product Introduction Planning

Develop NPI plans including timelines, resource allocation, and key milestones.

Coordinate internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth NPI execution as planned.
2. Product Design Conversion

Convert design drawings and technical requirements into feasible manufacturing processes and workflows.

Participate in design reviews, providing feedback on manufacturability and process feasibility to ensure production readiness.
3. Sample Production & Testing

Organize new product sample production and coordinate pilot runs.

Test and evaluate samples to ensure compliance with design specifications and customer requirements.

Collect and analyze test data for decision-making.
4. Process Development & Optimization

Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new products, including injection molding and assembly processes.

Drive process optimization to enhance production efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce manufacturing costs.
5. Cross-Department Coordination

Collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve NPI-related issues.

Ensure clear communication and effective collaboration across departments throughout the NPI process.
6. Pilot Run & Mass Production Transition

Manage pilot production, monitor issues during production, and implement corrective actions.

Ensure smooth transition from pilot runs to mass production while maintaining quality and production targets.
7. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and maintain technical documents such as process flow charts, work instructions, and operation standards.

Submit progress reports, issue logs, and improvement plans throughout the NPI phase.
Job Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field.

Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Familiar with injection molding product design, injection molding processes, and quality management practices.

Basic project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.

Proficient in CAD, UG, and other design/analysis tools for basic process design and optimization.

Strong communication and coordination skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.

Excellent problem-solving skills to manage challenges during new product introduction.

Proficient in Mandarin to liaise with counterparts in China.
