Job Summary:

Assess forward looking technologies and drive technical advancement with focus on cutting edge internal and external antenna/system design. Mentor junior talent on simulation, test and development intricacies to reduce development time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive to in bringing in best in class innovative antenna system solutions for various exciting applications such as IoT devices, infrastructure or ultra- compact consumer products using computer simulation and experimental techniques.
  • Leading a team for innovative antenna solutions and deliver to market on time with dialed in cost.
  • Contributes and influence to BU level technology and product decision. Works closely with PM on aligning Technology Roadmap and Product Roadmap.
  • Provides mentoring to junior members of global the antenna engineering team.
  • Mentors and coaches other engineers in BU with the state-of-the-art antenna technology.
  • Build a culture of agile adapting that respond to environmental and market changes.
  • Assists team the design implementation and validation of antenna systems across the lifecycle from initial concept stage to mass production.
  • Analyze and review design requirements with close collaboration with the customers, product managers and sales.
  • Collaborate with NPI team to develop RF product design and define the optimum technology for Manufacturability to meet customer requirement.
  • Proactively involve in procedure optimization/improvement in RF design flow for time to market.
  • Perform research for state-of-the-art antenna via trade, professional journals to determine next generation technology platform.
  • Creates customer innovation/influencer relationships. Coordinates Technical Activities and Communications as well as contributing to technical roadmap.


Job Requirements:

  • Possess Masters Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years and above of experience in leading a team technically with proven experience of bringing best in class devices/novel antenna solutions to market.
  • 10 years and above of experience in antenna design, 2 years of Radio Frequency (RF) circuit design for RF/ related electronics such as antenna tuners, LNA design etc.
  • Solid understanding of antenna theory, product, application, and RF/antenna analysis project.
  • Vast experience with antenna test and measurement including Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Spectrum analyzer, Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing, anechoic chamber, and active measurement (TRP/TIS).
  • Expert level proficiency with 3D EM simulation software, high-frequency structure simulator / Computer Simulation Technology (Ansys HFSS or CST) and RF Circuit Advanced Design System / Applied Wave Research (ADS or AWR).
  • Ability to influence mechanical engineering, I.D., product management, operations, PCB design and PJM with a data driven approach.
  • Assess risk and compliance across areas of accountability.
  • Experience in LTE/GNSS/Wi-Fi/BT/NFC/UWB/mm-Wave among other protocols.
  • Familiar with carrier certification process, regulatory requirements Federal Communications Commission, CE Marking Radio Equipment Directive (FCC, CE. RED, etc).
  • Solid understanding of electromagnetics and antenna theory. Use the first principles approach to resolve deep technical challenges to unlock innovation.
  • Participate in Telecommunication Certification Bodies (TCB) Council, Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA) Technical Working Group among other bodies.
  • Good understanding for the IoT, games machine and wireless business industry.
  • Proficient with English, written and spoken. Crisp communication skills to present to leadership and stakeholders as needed.
