Assistant Accountant - Middle East

We are looking for experienced resources to join our team for a Power & Energy company in the Middle East. This position will be based in Sri Lanka. Our client is a developer, investor and operator of power generation and desalinated water plants with 64 assets in operation, construction, or advanced development across 13 countries, with an investment value in excess 66 Billion.

The Role

• Provide daily and periodic support on transaction processing across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, fixed assets and related areas
• Follow transaction support processes and relevant quality control guidelines to ensure quality and accuracy
• Effective and regular follow-up with client teams on supporting documents and information for recording transactions as required
• Prepare month-end schedules and reconciliations
• Work closely with the client finance teams
• Prepare and process accounting entries related to the General Ledger in ERP systems
• Prepare month-end schedules and reconciliations
• Perform assigned tasks related to month-end closure

The Person

• Pursuing CA Sri Lanka / CIMA / ACCA or a member of AAT
• A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
• Age between 25-35 with 1-2 years of related experience
• Understanding of Accounting Standards
• Experience working with reputed ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, as you will work closely with operational teams
