Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and planning production activities to ensure efficient workflow, optimal resource utilization, and timely delivery of sales orders. This role involves working closely with supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and production teams to manage material availability, monitor production schedules, and ensure real time ERP integration for accurate planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and resource availability.
- Check production dashboards for scheduling and real time ERP updates.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure materials are available for planned production.
- Material Planning and Coordination.
- Calculate material requirements using ERP and planning tools, ensuring accuracy and alignment with supply chain needs.
- Generate purchase requests for materials when necessary, coordinating with the Procurement team.
- Ensure seamless material movement from warehouse to the shop floor in coordination with warehouse teams.
- Production Monitoring and Reporting.
- Track progress of work orders, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
- Identify variances in planned and actual material consumption and coordinate with the Costing Team for accuracy.
- Work closely with the Production Manager and Shop Floor Supervisors to oversee labor resource entries and job closure in the ERP system.
- Process Optimization and Compliance
- Implement best practices for production efficiency, reducing downtime and material waste.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and quality control guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production workflow.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Bachelors degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent with Manufacturing background.
Experience
Minimum five years in production planning or manufacturing operations.
Technical Skills
Strong analytical skills to assess material requirements and scheduling efficiency
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process optimization
