1st Class Structural Welder

Venture Dynamics is seeking highly skilled 1st Class Structural Welder capable of passing a 1" plate welding test in all positions. The welder will perform high-quality structural welding on heavy steel components for new construction projects, meeting strict code and quality requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on 1" and thicker steel plate and structural members

• Weld in all positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G) as required by project specifications Using

   FCAW (Flux-Core) processes to meet structural code standards
• Pass and maintain qualification on a 1" plate all-position weld test
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and AWS welding symbols
• Prepare joints including beveling, fitting, tacking, and grinding
• Produce welds that meet AWS D1.1 or equivalent structural code requirements
• Inspect own work for defects and perform repairs as needed
• Work safely in accordance with OSHA and site-specific safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a 1st Class Structural Welder

• Ability to pass a 1" plate all-position weld test (visual,bend required)

• Extensive experience welding heavy structural steel

• Strong knowledge of structural welding procedures and joint configurations

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS D1.1 certification or equivalent

• Experience with field welding and repair welding

• Familiarity bend test requirements
