1st Class Structural Welder

Venture Dynamics is seeking skilled Structural Welders to perform welding on new construction projects and repair work on tugboats. The ideal candidate has strong welding skills, can read blueprints, and works safely and efficiently in a construction or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on steel components including beams, columns, plates, and frames

• Weld using processes such as SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux-Core) as required.

• Execute welding for new construction, modifications, and structural repairs

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols

• Inspect welds to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards

• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, fitting, and aligning components

• Follow AWS, OSHA, and company safety standards at all times

• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and properly

• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions when required

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, and team members

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience as a structural welder in construction or industrial settings

• Proficiency in Stick and Flux-Core welding (MIG a plus)

• Ability to pass structural welding tests (AWS or company-specific)

• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication and structural welding techniques

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications

• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working long hours

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certification (D1.1 or equivalent)

• Experience with repair welding and structural retrofits

• Forklift, manlift, or crane signaling experience

• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
