Aluminum Welder (Fabrication Shop)

Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Aluminum Welder to support fabrication and welding operations in a shipyard production shop environment. This position is responsible for welding aluminum components, assemblies, and structural materials used in marine and industrial applications. The Aluminum Welder will perform shop-based welding work using approved welding procedures, blueprints, and production drawings to meet quality and production standards. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and contract demand.

Responsibilities

• Perform aluminum welding using MIG and other approved welding processes in a fabrication shop environment
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and production work orders
• Fit, align, and weld aluminum materials and assemblies to required specifications and tolerances
• Inspect completed welds for quality, appearance, and structural integrity
• Operate welding equipment, grinders, hand tools, and related fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain production schedules while meeting workmanship and quality standards
• Assist with material preparation, layout, and cleanup within the shop work area
• Support other fabrication and production activities as required by workload and project demands

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of aluminum welding experience in shipyard, marine, industrial, or heavy fabrication environments
• Proficient with MIG welding processes on aluminum materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Experience working in a production or fabrication shop setting
• Ability to pass aluminum welding tests as required
• Knowledge of proper welding safety practices and equipment operation
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in an industrial environment
• Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced shop environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous marine or shipyard aluminum welding experience
• Experience with structural aluminum fabrication and assembly
• OSHA 10 Maritime certification
• Experience operating shop fabrication equipment or overhead cranes
• Familiarity with Navy or military fabrication standards

Additional Information

Work is primarily performed in an industrial fabrication shop supporting marine and shipyard production operations. Duties may involve exposure to welding fumes, grinding operations, industrial noise, and active material handling areas. PPE is required in accordance with site safety policies, and respiratory protection may be required based on task or location. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned work locations. Work schedules may include overtime, weekends, and variable shifts based on production requirements.
