Venture Dynamics is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Tool Room Technician to support Navy ship repair projects in warehouse and industrial environments. The Tool Room Technician is responsible for tool control, inventory accuracy, equipment tracking, and material coordination in support of shipyard production teams. This role supports Navy and NAVSEA-governed work requiring organized documentation and accountability. Work is performed in a warehouse environment supporting active ship repair operations.

Responsibilities

  • Issue and receive tools, equipment, and consumables using established check-out and check-in procedures

  • Maintain accurate tool room inventory through cycle counts, reconciliations, and stock monitoring

  • Enter transactions and track equipment using inventory management or ERP systems

  • Organize and maintain tool storage areas, racks, and workspaces in a safe and efficient layout

  • Track calibration schedules, inspection intervals, and repair status for tools and equipment

  • Maintain calibration certificates, tool logs, inventory reports, and related documentation

  • Coordinate with shipyard production teams to issue required tools and equipment accurately and efficiently

  • Support forecasting of tool and material needs for upcoming ship repair projects

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a tool room, warehouse inventory, or material control role within ship repair or industrial environments

  • Direct experience supporting Navy ship repair or NAVSEA-governed projects

  • Proficiency using computer-based inventory systems and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accountability

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate material handling equipment

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to operate company vehicles when required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Navy base access, including DBIDS when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience tracking Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)

  • Forklift or material handling certification

  • Familiarity with tool calibration programs and documentation requirements

  • Prior experience working in shipyard support environments

Additional Information

Work is performed in a warehouse and industrial shipyard environment supporting active Navy vessel repair projects. Duties require standing, lifting, material handling, and operating warehouse equipment throughout the shift. PPE will be required based on task and project conditions. Respiratory protection may be required based on task, location, or environmental conditions. Candidates must be able to safely wear required PPE, including respirators, in accordance with site safety policies. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard or project locations. Work schedules may include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable shifts depending on project and production requirements.
