Welder/Fitter Helper

Pay: $15-$20hr

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable Welder/Helper to assist with welding, fabrication, and general shop or field duties in Mobile, AL. This role supports experienced welders and helps ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Ideal candidates are hardworking, safety-minded, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders with setup, fitting, and preparation of materials

• Perform basic welding tasks (MIG, TIG, or Stick) as skills allow

• Cut, grind, clean, and prep metal using hand and power tools

• Load, unload, and move materials and equipment

• Maintain a clean and safe work area

• Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times

• Support fabrication, repair, and installation projects

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous welding or construction experience a plus (not required)

• Basic knowledge of welding tools and shop equipment preferred

• Ability to read measurements and use basic hand tools

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions

• Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Mobile, AL

Work Environment

• Shop and/or field work

• Exposure to heat, noise, and heavy equipment

• May require working outdoors and in various weather conditions
