#934 - Python Developer (Infrastructure Automation)

Job Opportunity only available for residents in Bogota, Colombia.

The position is remote; the only requirement is that the engineer should be open to working in the client's office in Bogota once every month when the Manager from the US is traveling there.

We're looking for a strong Python developer with hands-on experience deploying applications in the cloud, automating infrastructure, and working closely with cloud and DevOps teams. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and improving infrastructure automation using Python and Infrastructure as Code practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation scripts and services
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools
• Work closely with DevOps, SRE, and platform teams to improve reliability and scalability
• Support CI/CD pipelines related to infrastructure and application deployments
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation workflows
• Contribute to improving infrastructure standards, security, and best practices

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python development
• 2–3 years of experience in infrastructure automation
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS (Other clouds like Azure, or GCP are a plus)
• Experience in Cloud Environment and deployment of applications in the cloud.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts
• Experience with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and system fundamentals
• Experience working in DevOps or platform engineering environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Understanding of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Scripting beyond Python (Bash, Shell)
