Job Openings Senior R&D Software Manager

About the job Senior R&D Software Manager

Do you see leadership as your true craft, and do you want to build a stronger software organization in a global medical-device company where quality and patient outcomes are at the heart of everything? Then this Senior R&D Software Manager role at Interacoustics could be for you.

Build a stronger software organization with clear leadership and delivery focus

As Senior R&D Software Manager at Interacoustics, you will take overall leadership responsibility for the Danish PC application software team in Middelfart and report directly to the R&D Director, Casper Wittorff. The role consolidates two previous team-lead areas into one broader software leadership position, with direct responsibility for 12 specialists, including developers, an architect, a technical product owner and a coordination/project-management profile, and no middle-management layer beneath you. The main assignment is to build a stronger software organization through clear people leadership, process discipline, delivery focus and improved engagement. You will embed the newly introduced software process, clarify roles and decision paths, and drive progress on three large, business-critical diagnostics software projects, among the top priorities within the Demant Group, while strengthening planning maturity, release predictability and quality in a regulated environment. You will ensure the team works in line with medical-device standards for documentation, traceability, change control and patient safety, engage credibly in technical discussions around architecture, C#, .NET, WPF, platform renewal and gradual future move toward SaaS and AI, and strengthen collaboration across hybrid teams with colleagues in Kuala Lumpur. You are not expected to be the hands-on expert, but you must be technically knowledgeable enough to act as a sparring partner for the team and peers.

Leadership professional with a software development background

You see leadership as your primary profession and are comfortable leading specialists with a relatively large span of control. You understand modern software development and can engage credibly in discussions around architecture, technical debt, release planning, platform renewal and maintainability. You have a proven track record of improving how teams work by clarifying roles, implementing processes, raising planning maturity and lifting standards without losing people. Experience from a regulated or process-heavy environment such as medical device, life science, diagnostics, industrial technology, defense, automotive or aerospace is preferred, and experience with hardware-connected products or software project management is an advantage.

On a personal level, you are structured and clear, trust-based but firm, and collaborative, preferring teamwork over individual hero culture. You stay calm under pressure, handling ambiguity and sensitive organizational change without becoming reactive or political, and you are motivated by developing people and building a stronger organization over time. You are fluent in English; Danish is preferred but not necessary.

Play a pivotal role in a global hearing and balance leader

This is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with high visibility, significant budgets and a clear mandate to build something stronger, with the potential to grow into broader R&D leadership over time. The recruitment process is carried out by Venaris Executive Search (www.venaris.dk). For more information regarding the position, please reach out to Partner, Mark Kure Hansen, on +45 26 74 52 52, or Executive Search Consultant, Daniel C. Dul, at dd@venaris.dk. All requests will be handled confidentially. If this position is for you, do not hesitate to apply by uploading your CV - it is not necessary to include a cover letter.
