Job Openings Senior R&D Software Manager

About the job Senior R&D Software Manager

Do you want to take a senior software leadership role where you help shape the future software agenda, drive the transition toward cloud and SaaS, and act as a strategic sparring partner to senior stakeholders? Then this R&D Software Manager role at Interacoustics could be for you.

Shape the software agenda and support the transition toward cloud and SaaS

As R&D Software Manager at Interacoustics, you will take overall leadership responsibility for the Danish PC application software team in Middelfart and report directly to the R&D Director, Casper Wittorff. This is a senior software leadership role with a clear strategic dimension. You will help elevate the software agenda, contribute to the transition from on-premise software toward more connected, cloud-enabled and SaaS-oriented solutions, and participate in strategic discussions with senior stakeholders across Interacoustics and the Demant Group. The role also includes direct responsibility for 12 software-focused employees, including developers, an architect, a technical product owner and a coordination/project-management profile. People leadership remains an important part of the role, but the broader assignment is to strengthen how software is led, prioritized, communicated and delivered at organizational level. You will embed the software development process introduced in November 2023, clarify roles and decision paths, and drive progress on three large, business-critical diagnostics software projects, among the top priorities within the Demant Group. This means strengthening planning maturity, release predictability, quality and follow-through in a regulated medical-device environment. You will be expected to engage credibly in technical and strategic discussions around architecture, platform renewal, technical debt, cloud transition, telemetry/data, SaaS-oriented software models and modern delivery practices such as CI/CD and DevOps principles. You are not expected to be the hands-on expert, but you must have enough software substance to discuss technology concretely, challenge assumptions, communicate trade-offs clearly and act as a strong sparring partner for the R&D Director, C-level stakeholders and the software organization.

Software leader with strategic range and strong stakeholder presence

You have a background in software leadership and are comfortable operating above the team level. You can connect technical direction, delivery reality and business priorities, and you are able to represent software in strategic discussions with senior stakeholders. You understand modern software development and can engage credibly in discussions around architecture, technical debt, release planning, platform renewal, cloud transition, maintainability and modern delivery practices. Experience with cloud transition, SaaS-oriented software, software transformation or platform modernization is important. You have a proven track record of improving how software teams and organizations work by clarifying roles, strengthening processes, raising planning maturity, improving predictability and lifting standards. Experience from a regulated or process-heavy software environment such as medical device, life science, diagnostics, fintech, financial services, business software, SaaS, cloud platforms or another environment where documentation, quality and defined processes matter is preferred.

On a personal level, you are strategic, structured and communicative. You can explain complex software topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior and executive audiences. You are confident enough to challenge, but pragmatic enough to build alignment. You lead with trust, transparency and accountability. You can develop people and strengthen engagement, while also enforcing standards, setting direction and pushing for higher performance. You stay calm under pressure and can handle ambiguity, strategic change and complex stakeholder dynamics without becoming reactive or political. You are fluent in English; Danish is preferred but not necessary.

Play a pivotal role in a global hearing and balance leader

This is an opportunity to step into a senior software leadership role with high visibility, significant budgets and a clear mandate to influence the future software direction at Interacoustics. Over time, the role may develop toward broader R&D leadership responsibility. The recruitment process is carried out by Venaris Executive Search. For more information regarding the position, please reach out to Partner, Mark Kure Hansen, on +45 26 74 52 52, or Executive Search Consultant, Daniel C. Dul, at dd@venaris.dk. All requests will be handled confidentially. If this position is for you, do not hesitate to apply by uploading your CV. It is not necessary to include a cover letter.
