Take the lead in driving scientific aspects of clinical programs and trials from initial idea to CSR
As Medical/Clinical Scientist, you will report directly to the Head of Clinical Development. You will become the medical/clinical lead on trials and in Project Core Teams (PCTs) when relevant, where you will drive all scientific aspects of clinical programs. This includes driving clinical advisory boards and KOL meetings to shape and design the clinical development programs and driving clinical trials from initial idea, through synopsis, scientific monitoring during conduct and scientific support in writing the final CSR. In this role, you will act as clinical representative in PCTs, for relevant programs, contributing to Target Product Profiles (TPPs) and its translation into clinical strategy. Moreover, you will be working closely with colleagues in R&D and commercial functions to cultivate relationships with investigative sites, clinical consultants, and key opinion leaders related to the development programs. Additionally, you will serve as scientific monitor for the clinical trials, to ensure study integrity, oversee patient enrollment, and track accumulating efficacy data. The role also encompasses contributions to scientific/medical aspects of trial related documents as well as analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and reporting of clinical study data. Finally, you will be building, maintaining, and sharing medical and clinical information and securing up-to-date knowledge of relevant science, publications, medical information, good clinical practices, and regulatory guidance within relevant disease areas (cardiology, oncology, hematology) is crucial to succeed in this role.
Highly skilled and analytical research scientist
We expect you to hold a degree in Medicine, Human biology, Natural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Science, or similar, combined with significant experience in global clinical drug development including extensive experience with clinical trial design and execution. Your experience includes solid experience in late-phase trial design, respective dossier preparation, and submission activities including global health authority interactions (EMA, FDA, CDE), where you have led or highly participated in bringing a drug development program to a successful registration. Specialization, experience or interest within hematology, cardiology or oncology will be an advantage but is not a demand.
You are experienced in all aspects of GCP (Good Clinical Practice), ICH, and other relevant guidelines and regulations from key regulatory authorities. Finally, we expect you to have a thorough understanding of the clinical and scientific methods and approaches used in clinical development, such as novel clinical study designs, clinical pharmacology, PK/PD modeling, and biostatistics.
You have strong analytical skills and are excellent at planning, coordinating, and prioritizing tasks with a flexible and creative approach to tasks. You are empathetic and respectful, working efficiently as part of a team, contributing with a positive, inclusive, and proactive attitude. You are motivated by new challenges and have a well-developed sense of responsibility with a strong personal drive to drive things forward. Additionally, you are highly proficient in both written and spoken English.
