Senior Software Quality Engineer

We are a revolutionary Silicon Valley tech-startup that's building next-generation solutions for e-commerce retailers. Our Engineering team based out of Colombo, Sri Lanka, is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join the team.

Velou uses the latest Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science technologies to build a best-in-class e-commerce product discovery experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts.
• Perform Functional, Component, Integration, and End-to-End (E2E) Testing, ensuring appropriate test coverage.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD.
• Debug logs, troubleshoot databases, and work closely with SRE and DevOps teams to ensure seamless test execution.
• Review system designs and architectures to create effective test coverage.
• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching technologies to validate backend processes.
• Ensure high-quality user experiences by performing functional and exploratory testing.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams within an Agile SDLC/STLC environment.

Requirements

• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in Quality engineering.
• 1+ year of experience in automation testing using open-source tools like Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured (API automation), Cucumber, Appium, and Selenium WebDriver.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for automation scripting.
• Strong understanding of test automation concepts, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Ability to debug logs, analyze failures, and troubleshoot database issues.
• Experience in Performance testing.
• Strong knowledge in software testing processes, tools, and technologies.
• Excellent written, verbal communication, and negotiation skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines.
• Knowledge of implementing automation tests in Dockerized containers within a Kubernetes environment.
