Job Description:

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for numbers and financial analysis? We're seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Zambia. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Zambian accounting standards.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to management.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining vendor relationships.

4. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with Zambian tax laws and regulations. Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and on time. Liaise with external tax advisors as needed.

5. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data. Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.

6. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits. Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.

7. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify trends. Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis findings.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2. Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in Zambia.

3. Sound knowledge of Zambian accounting standards and tax regulations.

4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

6. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

9. Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
