Civils Engineers

VEA Telecoms UK are currently recruiting for the roles of a Civils Operatives, that will be based in Manchester but will require being able to work across various sites in Manchester/Birmingham/Cumbria weekly.

Due to the high amount of risk involved in this job, Civils Operatives must be first and foremost a responsible individual with a great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of groundworks.

Key responsibilities:

-You will take responsibility for the safety, quality and environmental elements of your work site and the welfare of your fellow employees within.

-Plan and co-ordinate site works in accordance with the instructions of the client and the Operations Manager.

-Ensure that equipment, materials, and site arrangements are ready at the beginning of the day. You may be required to start early to organise this.

-Ensure that risk assessments are carried out daily and all safety, health & environmental requirements are undertaken to maintain a consistent, safe delivery of service.

- Experience of dealing with blockages and reinstatements.

This is a pivotal role in our business as it allows us to quickly move to the build stage before reinstatement and continue to grow our Telecoms presence.

Essential Requirements/Certification -

• Emergency First aid Training 1 day
• SWQR Unit LA, Unit O1, Unit O2, Unit O3
• SA006 (safe working in Civils)
• Q021 (Duct laying 1)
• Q020/DB1- (Duct Blockage)
• Q019 (Core Drilling)
• Q013 (Box Building)
• K008 - (hand rodding in the UG network)
