About the Role
As a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of small business applicants and supporting the underwriting process. Youll analyze financial information, review credit reports, and liaise with applicants to recommend loan approvals or declines in line with company criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the underwriting of new small business loan applications
  • Review credit reports, background checks, and supporting documents to assess risk
  • Analyze bank statements, credit card processing data, and business financials
  • Conduct phone interviews with loan applicants to validate information
  • Prepare and document findings for internal funding representatives
  • Provide recommendations for approval or decline based on set criteria
  • Ensure all processes are followed accurately and in a timely manner

What Were Looking For

  • Experience in underwriting or credit analysis (preferred but not essential)
  • Exposure to small business lending or financial services (advantageous)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with personal and company credit reports, ASIC searches, or similar tools (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Professional phone etiquette and confidence when liaising with business owners and internal teams
