About the job AU Tax Accountant
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented AU Tax Accountant to join our team. This role will primarily focus on the preparation and lodgement of Income Tax Returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS), ensuring compliance with Australian tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and lodge Income Tax Returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS) accurately and on time
- Perform AIFRS tax effect accounting, including preparation of income tax provisions for financial reporting
- Conduct tax-sensitive account reconciliations and analyses
- Liaise with finance and operational teams to collect relevant financial data and analyse expenditure for taxation purposes
- Identify tax implications of transactions and provide practical, research-based insights
- Support the development and improvement of tax processes, systems, and controls to minimise compliance risks
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Australian taxation, with strong exposure to Income Tax Returns and BAS
- Non-negotiable: Hands-on experience with CCH iFirm accounting system
- Moderate to high level of technical taxation knowledge
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
