About the role:
As the Collections Team Lead, you will lead and manage our collections team, overseeing the efficient recovery of debts while ensuring compliance with Australian regulations and company policies. Your primary responsibilities will include strategizing, implementing best practices, and motivating the team to achieve outstanding results in debt recoveries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of collections agents, providing guidance, support, and coaching to achieve performance targets and KPIs in debt recoveries.
- Develop and implement effective collections strategies tailored to the Australian market, leveraging your in-depth understanding of local regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor and analyze team performance metrics specific to debt recoveries, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on changes in Australian debt collection laws and regulations, ensuring full compliance in all collections activities and documentation.
- Collaborate with legal experts and external agencies when necessary to handle complex debt recovery cases in accordance with Australian legal requirements.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members in debt recoveries.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and excellence among team members.
- Prepare and present reports on team performance, debt recovery trends, and strategies to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Australian debt recoveries, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Strong understanding of collections processes, including skip tracing, negotiation techniques, and legal regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
