About the role:

Key Responsibilities:
Settlements Management:
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end settlement process for a variety of financial products.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including solicitors, conveyancers, and clients, to ensure seamless settlements.
- Prepare and review settlement documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Credit Checks and Underwriting:
- Conduct comprehensive credit checks on applicants to assess their creditworthiness.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Ensure all underwriting activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Attention to Detail:
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation of all settlement and underwriting activities.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies or issues in settlement documentation and underwriting assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth settlements.
- Provide clear and concise updates and reports on the status of settlements and underwriting assessments.
- Collaborate with the risk management and compliance teams to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in settlements within the Australian financial services industry.
- Strong background in conducting credit checks and underwriting.
