About the Role

We are looking for a Pre-Legal Support Officer who will assist our Collections team with administrative and pre-legal tasks. Although you will be based in the Philippines, you will be supporting our Australian team and working with Australian policies, regulations, and processes. This role works closely with the Pre-Legal Officer to handle post-settlement activities, organise documentation, and ensure smooth coordination between teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Proof of Debt (POD) requests.

  • Prepare and manage Letters of Demand and coordinate follow-up actions.

  • Handle security removal requests for both performing and collections loans.

  • Monitor and manage the teams shared legal inbox, making sure all emails are handled, resolved, or escalated to the correct team.

  • Coordinate with the Collections team to confirm details before cases are escalated.

  • Assign tasks to the Pre-Legal Officer as needed, while avoiding duplication of work.

  • Help improve and streamline collections workflows.

  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in line with Australian collections rules and guidelines, including those set by:

    • ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission) oversees financial services and credit providers

    • ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) ensures fair trading and consumer rights

    • AFCA (Australian Financial Complaints Authority) handles customer complaints in finance

    • NCCP Act (National Consumer Credit Protection Act) regulates responsible lending

  • Assist with preparing documents required for legal action, including draft Statements of Claim.

  • Coordinate with external law firms to request documents or information needed for legal files.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience in collections, legal support, loan administration, or similar back-office roles (preferred but not required).

  • Ability to manage several tasks at once and prioritise work.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams.

  • Self-driven, organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
