Job Overview:
As a Senior Accountant at our outsourced accounting company, you will be responsible for leading and managing accounting teams, handling end-to-end accounting processes for clients, and contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and system implementation. Your role involves client relationship management, financial reporting, tax compliance, process improvement, and mentorship of junior accountants. By leveraging your expertise in accounting practices and strong leadership skills, you will contribute to the success and growth of our firm while ensuring high-quality service delivery to our diverse client base in the US.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with clients in the US, understanding their unique accounting needs and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior accountants, fostering their professional development and ensuring team cohesion and effectiveness.
- Workflow Optimization: Oversee and optimize workflow distribution among team members, prioritize tasks, and ensure deadlines are met across multiple client accounts.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, develop and implement new systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting functions.
Senior Accounting Work
- Order to Cash (O2C), Procurement to Pay (P2P), Records to Report (R2R): Manage the end-to-end processes for assigned client/s, including bank reconciliations, vendor management, accounts receivable (AR) management, fixed assets and inventory management, and meeting weekly and end-of-month financial reporting requirements.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, assist in budget preparations, conduct variance analysis, and provide insights to support decision-making for clients.
- Tax Compliance: Handle payroll processing, tax reporting, and assist in audits as needed, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations in the US.
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Talent Acquisition: Participate in the recruitment process for junior accountants, conduct interviews, assess candidates' skills and fit within the team, and contribute to hiring decisions.
- Onboarding and Training: Assist in facilitating the onboarding process for new team members, provide training on company policies, procedures, and software tools, and mentor junior accountants to ensure they meet performance expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Atleast 5-7 years of proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in an outsourced accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results.
- Candidate with night shift experience is preferred
Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
- Proficiency in MS Excel is required
- Cost Accounting experience
- Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills to manage, plan, organize and implement strategic plans
- Effective problem solving and mediation skills
- Proven experience and high standards of interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge/Abilities:
- Current knowledge of accounting and financial disciplines and management. Demonstrated skills and experiences in core business practices to achieve business growth and sustainment.
- Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills to manage, plan, organize and implement strategic plans.
- Experience working with Board of Directors and external clients
- Proven experience in a broad spectrum of staff and management issues. Demonstrated ability to manage staff which involves coaching, guiding, counselling, mentoring and appraising work performance.
- Ability to work on a continuous night shift
Special Certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (required)
- CMA (is a plus)
