Position Summary:
A Human Resources Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. Their duties include comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, drafting templates for HR documents and working with other members of the department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for company employees and contractors
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
- Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting interviews, reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
- Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
- Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees and contractors in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee/contractor-relations matters
- Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including; bi-weekly and semi-monthly updates to employee and contractors' files, bonus/incentive pay, tracking vacation/sick pay, importing expense reimbursements, inputting exceptions, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee/contractor handbook, employee/contractor directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with remote onboarding and virtual team engagement.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) or ongoing pursuit of certification is a plus.
- Experience in talent acquisition for diverse roles, including technical, operational, and leadership positions.
- Proactive problem solving: Capable of identifying and resolving HR-related challenges in a timely and constructive manner.
- Adaptability: Comfortable with the fast-paced and evolving nature of a remote work environment.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to facilitate effective communication across a distributed team.
- Team player: Collaborative and willing to work with various departments to support HR initiatives and organizational goals.
