Role

Monitor and maintain the integrity of all MODU electrical, electronic and instrument (EEI) Systems. Responsible for planning and performing or delegating EEI preventative and corrective maintenance including breakdowns and improvements affecting all EEI equipment onboard.

The Senior Electrician will:

  • Maintain an adequate supply of spares to fulfil maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
  • Discuss, and agree critical maintenance priorities with Maintenance Supervisor and other department heads.
  • Communicate equipment issues or breakdown information to Maintenance Supervisor, OIM and affected department heads.
  • Perform or delegate isolations/deisolations requested from other departments.
  • Ensure an accurate historical record of all EEI maintenance, repair and equipment change out is captured with in the companies CMMS.
  • Maintain regular communication with shore-based management and support group.
  • Implement follow-up requirements of audits, as issued by Clients, Regulatory Authorities or rig management that impact EEI.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that all third-party equipment is fit for purpose, certified, correctly installed, and maintained whilst on the rig.
  • Review and communicate potential improvements to electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure accurate and complete handovers are provided at shift and rotation change.
  • Mentor and coach, electrical team members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.
  • Tools and equipment to carry out maintenance will always be available when required.
  • EEI equipment rooms and electrical workshop housekeeping is to a high standard.
  • Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process including the recommendation of promotions.
  • Attend offshore/onshore meetings, events and training programs, as required.
  • Participate in and promote the competency management system encouraging through the Electrical Team

Skills & Experience

  • Valid UK survival mandatory training
  • Recognised qualification or technical accreditation in Electrical discipline.
  • Comp-Ex training level Ex 01-04
  • High Volatge switching training when applicable to assigned MODU.
  • Completion of all training and certification requirements for offshore Senior Electrician as described in the Companies training matrix.
  • Basic Computer Skills.

DESIRED

  • Relative experience in supporting drilling operations, 2 years on MODU
  • Higher education or degree in any of the EEI discipline
  • Familiarisation of working with Maximo
