Job Title: Offshore Mechanic

Location: Offshore Project, South Africa

Duration: Approximately 2 weeks (starting mid-December, running over Christmas)

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Offshore Mechanics for a short-term project in South Africa, focused on sheave replacement and caliper brake reconditioning. This role is ideal for professionals with offshore experience who can perform specialised tasks efficiently and ensure operational safety and reliability. Day and night shifts will be required to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sheave Replacement: Conduct precise removal and installation of sheaves, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to safety and operational standards.

- Caliper Brake Reconditioning: Perform maintenance and reconditioning on caliper brakes to ensure reliable functionality.

- Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols, conducting necessary checks on serviced equipment.

- Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, parts replaced, and adjustments made.

- Collaboration: Work closely with operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maintain optimal system function.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Offshore Experience: Prior experience in offshore mechanical roles, specifically with sheave systems and caliper brake reconditioning, is essential.

- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in servicing mechanical systems, including sheaves and braking mechanisms.

- Certifications: Valid passport, offshore medical certificate, and offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET).

- Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively in a time-sensitive environment.

- Physical Endurance: Capability to work extended shifts in offshore conditions.

Additional Information:

- This is a short-term contract role requiring availability over the holiday period.

- The project will operate on a 24-hour schedule, with alternating day and night shifts for the assigned crew.

- Visas will be arranged by the client if required.
