Role Overview:

The VP of Finance & Accounts will be at the helm of Value Cart's financial operations, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Craft and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives. Oversee annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify trends and opportunities. Present comprehensive financial reports to senior management.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential financial risks and devise strategies to mitigate them. Ensure robust internal financial controls.
  • Tax & Compliance: Oversee all fiscal reporting activities, ensuring adherence to both direct and indirect tax regulations. Stay updated with evolving financial regulations in India.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with key stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, and auditors. Represent the company in financial discussions and negotiations.
  • Capital Management: Manage the company's capital structure, ensuring optimal utilization of resources. Evaluate potential investment opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Operational Efficiency: Champion process improvements, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Play an instrumental role in potential M&A activities, from due diligence to financial integration.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor the company's liquidity, ensuring sufficient funds for operational and capital investment needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Chartered Accountant certification is mandatory. An MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is highly desirable.
  • Professional Certification: Additional certifications like CFA or CPA are advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a track record in senior financial managerial roles. Experience in the e-commerce sector, especially in start-ups, will be a distinct advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software, advanced Excel functionalities, VBA, and macros. Familiarity with financial modeling is essential.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, analytical thinking, and a keen eye for detail. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial.
