Role Description

A Strategic Sourcing Manager at Vyrian, Inc. will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings, ensure supply chain efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards. This role involves identifying and relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance. 

The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing initiatives with business objectives, optimize procurement processes, and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Sourcing, developing supply bases, managing Bills of Materials
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Evaluating supplier performance, and ensuring timely deliveries
  • Maintaining strong relationships and coordinating vendor activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in sourcing commodities: semiconductors (active and passive), interconnects, electromechanicals, and computer components.
  • Proven ability to source materials from regions including the USA, Europe, and Asia, focusing on strategic line items and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop an off-shore supply base by identifying, evaluating, and selecting second-source suppliers.
  • Ability to assess and optimize inventory levels, reducing holding costs and preventing obsolescence.
  • Experience in leveraging a worldwide network of buyers and sellers to maximize ROI for surplus inventory and efficiently manage excess stock.
  • Skilled in identifying and mitigating risks associated with excess inventory, ensuring financial stability and minimizing potential losses.
  • Experience handling Bills of Materials (BOM) from various industries, including Telecom, Consumer Electronics, Medical, Automotive, and Military, with a focus on cost reduction initiatives with OEMs, EMS, CEMs, and suppliers.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills for managing supplier contracts, evaluating performance, developing improvement plans, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure efficient material flow and risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency in liaising with manufacturers and franchise distributors to ensure timely shipments, avoid delays, and continually negotiate for cost benefits, while establishing new suppliers and understanding their capabilities.
  • Competence in directing and coordinating activities, forecasting, and performance of all vendors.
