Fire Alarm Service & Maintenance Engineer
(Emergency Lighting Experience)
Location: Birmingham to Oxfordshire
OTE: £35,000–£40,000

Valoris Group is recruiting on behalf of a national fire safety provider looking to strengthen their service and maintenance team. This role suits an electrician who is either looking to move into fire alarm systems or already has some exposure and wants to specialise further in a stable, compliance-driven environment with real long-term progression.
This is not positioned as an entry-level role. It is ideal for someone who is technically capable, reliable, and looking to develop into a specialist within fire safety and compliance.
You will be part of a professional national team delivering critical safety services across commercial sites. The role involves travel and working away Monday to Friday, with all accommodation arranged.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on fire alarm systems, alongside emergency lighting testing and compliance work.
Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain and fault-find on commercial fire alarm systems

Test emergency lighting systems and replace fittings where required

Complete compliance reports to a high standard

Work in line with BS 5839 and all relevant safety regulations

Attend client sites nationwide

Work away during the week when required, with accommodation provided
Candidate Profile

Electrical background, apprentice nearing completion or fully qualified

Experience or exposure to fire alarm systems and emergency lighting preferred

Confident with emergency lighting testing and minor remedial works

Looking to either enter or further develop a career in fire safety

Professional, organised, and comfortable with travel

Full UK driving licence
