Meet the team

This role reports to the VP of Communications, who leads the global comms function and is the immediate manager and sparring partner for this hire. You'll work alongside the UK & Ireland and Global Marketing teams - colleagues responsible for brand, content, campaigns, events, and digital - and partner with vertical leads, product specialists, commercial leaders and the wider go-to-market organisation. External agency partners form part of the day-to-day delivery network and will be briefed and managed through this role. Stakeholders extend across the business: the global CEO, the UK senior leadership team, Product and Customer leaders, and counterparts in other LEAP markets. Communications is a young function with executive sponsorship and meaningful scope - the right person will help shape it, not inherit it fully formed.

What you'll do

We're hiring a PR and Corporate Affairs Lead to own LEAP UK's external profile across media, issues, and executive visibility. Reporting to the VP of Communications, you'll partner with the UK leadership team, marketing colleagues, and external agencies to translate strategy into coverage, conversation, and reputation across LEAP, LEAP Enterprise, and our smaller acquired brands.

Media and PR: Own LEAP UK's media strategy across legal trade press, business titles, and tech media. Build and maintain strong journalist relationships, drive proactive coverage, and handle reactive enquiries with judgement and pace.

Corporate affairs and reputation: Lead issues management and reputation work - anticipating risks, preparing the business, and steering responses when stories break. Manage relationships with regulators, professional bodies, and the wider legal ecosystem.

Executive visibility: Develop and run visibility programmes for the UK leadership team and the global CEO, including speaking platforms, awards, podcasts, op-eds, and thought leadership.

Writing and content: Write and edit press releases, statements, briefing notes, op-eds, Q&As, and internal updates to a publishable standard.

Agency and partner management: Brief, direct, and hold to account external PR and creative agencies. Set the standard for what good looks like and make sure budget is well spent.

Strategy and measurement: Co-author the annual communications plan with the VP of Communications. Set quarterly KPIs covering share of voice, sentiment, message pull-through, and earned coverage, and report against them in a way the business actually finds useful.

Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with Marketing, Product, People, and Customer teams to make sure the external story and the internal reality stay consistent.

What you'll bring

  • Around 7+ years of experience in PR, corporate communications, and corporate affairs, gained in-house, in agency, or a mix of both.
  • A track record of placing serious, substantive coverage in tier-one and trade media - not just announcements, but stories that moved the needle.
  • Direct experience of legal sector PR is essential. You understand how law firms, legal media, and the wider profession operate, and you know what makes a story land in this market.
  • AI-savvy, with genuine curiosity about how the technology is changing communications work and a clear desire to learn, experiment, and embed AI best practice into day-to- day workflows. You don't need to be an expert — you do need to be actively engaged.
  • Genuine, current legal journalist relationships in the UK.
  • Sound judgement on issues and reputation work. You know when to say something, when to say nothing, and how to read a situation accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent writing — clear, fast, and tonally accurate across formats from a holding line to a long-form op-ed.
  • The ability to act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, including our global CEO, and to brief and manage external agencies confidently.
  • Comfort building in a function that is still being shaped. You bring structure with you rather than waiting for it to arrive.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS and/or professional services is a strong plus. Public affairs and/or regulatory engagement experience is a welcome bonus too.

Our client is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all, of the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.

What does success look like?

  • The CEO and senior leaders are visible in the right rooms and on the right platforms, with messages that land and travel.
  • Issues are anticipated and well-handled, and reputation strengthens steadily quarter on quarter.
  • Communications activity across group companies and acquired brands is coordinated, distinct, and mutually reinforcing.
  • Quarterly KPIs are met, and reporting tells a clear story the business can act on.
