Candidate Preference:
Taiwanese candidates are preferred. We are also open to qualified overseas candidates based in Europe, Malaysia.
Working Arrangement:
Taiwan-based candidates can work either onsite in Taipei or from home (WFH).
Candidates based in Europe, Malaysia, can work remotely.
Language Requirements:
Mandarin is not mandatory. For candidates who do not speak Mandarin, fluent English is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable and high-performance backend systems for online games
- Architect and optimize complex game server systems including matchmaking, real-time state synchronization, and session handling
- Ensure system scalability, low-latency performance, and high availability across global deployments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps and ensure timely delivery of features
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and development best practices
- Integrate backend services with game clients, databases, message queues, and analytics systems
- Continuously improve backend architecture, deployment processes, and monitoring systems
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2 years in game backend or real-time systems
- Expertise in Go and/or Java, and experience leading backend architecture design
- Proficient in Go frameworks such as Gin, Echo, GORM, and Spring Boot for Java
- Deep understanding of multiplayer game server architecture and networking
- Strong experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RocketMQ)
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL
- Proficient in CI/CD practices and Git Flow development process
- Comfortable working with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based environments
- Strong debugging, profiling, and performance tuning skills
Nice to Have
- Experience designing backend infrastructure for large-scale multiplayer games
- Familiarity with ClickHouse or other high-throughput data systems
- Knowledge of distributed systems, caching strategies, and microservices best practices
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Passion for games and understanding of game development lifecycle
